The 200-100 Lennard-Jones potential [1] is a variant the more well known Lennard-Jones model . It has been used to study colloids.

Φ12(r)=4ϵ[(σr)200−(σr)100]

where

  • r:=|r1−r2|
  • Φ12(r) is the intermolecular pair potential between two particles or sites
  • σ is the diameter (length), i.e. the value of r at which Φ12(r)=0
  • ϵ is the well depth (energy)
