Hard spherocylinders

The molecular volume of the spherocylinder is given by

$v_{0}=\pi \left({\frac {LD^{2}}{4}}+{\frac {D^{3}}{6}}\right)$

where $L$ is the length of the cylindrical part of the spherocylinder and Failed to parse (SVG (MathML can be enabled via browser plugin): Invalid response ("Math extension cannot connect to Restbase.") from server "https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/":): {\displaystyle D} is the diameter.
