The compressibility, Z, is given by

The bulk modulus B gives the change in volume of a solid substance as the pressure on it is changed,

The compressibility K or κ, is given by

κ=1B

The isothermal compressibility, κT is given by

κT=−1V∂V∂P|T=1ρ∂ρ∂P|T
